Embrace Your Smile File

Embrace The Smile File

Yellow balloons with smiley faces on them.

“Confidence in the workplace is something I struggled with early in my career. In one of my coaching sessions, Ed mentioned I should keep track of my achievements in a smile file.

I was slightly sceptical about this, however with consistency and being reminded to slow down to take a minute to note down my accomplishments, it allowed me to view myself in a positive light.

As a result, I now look forward to ending my days by updating my smile file as it has definitely reduced stress and boosted my confidence!”

Early talent apprentices, I work with at Multiverse, can often struggle with a lack of confidence in themselves, given their new roles and environments. To help overcome this, apprentices and I discuss the creation of a powerful, mental health and confidence-boosting tool…

😊 The Smile File 😊

The purpose of the “Smile File” is to track daily achievements and successes, no matter how small they are.

The key to the smile file is to do this EVERY day. Even on those where you feel low or that you’ve achieved little to nothing. Remember, for some people, getting out of bed is an achievement.

The benefits are wide-reaching too – not just for the individual, but also for the team they work in – including cultivating success, higher self-esteem, creating a positive mindset, and more. In addition to this, research from Harvard Business School suggests that people who track their minor achievements daily are more motivated in the long term.

If you feel you need this, give it a go. If you do give this a go, let me know how it works for you.
